Notably, Samantha has experience representing clients in Malaysian courts and arbitration at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). Experience

Commercial / International Commercial Disputes

  • Represented companies from Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia against steel manufacturers in Malaysia arising out of breach of payment for the sold and delivered of steel products with claims in excess of RM 8 million

  • Successfully obtained an arbitrator award from the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) in the representation of a Singapore company against a Thai steel manufacturer in claims in excess of US$ 450,000.00 

  • Provided legal opinions to corporate clients from Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and United Kingdom on various aspects of their commercial transactions in Malaysia

  • Conducted in-house counsel roles for Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia companies and collaborated with foreign counsels, internal and external stakeholders to resolve legal issues and provide strategic legal advice and opinions to clients

  • Represented international transport and logistic companies in commercial claims for goods sold and delivered and demurrage

  • Facilitated in over 20+ land acquisition disputes for highway concessionaries

Restructuring & Insolvency

​

  • Represented companies from Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Italy and Malaysia against local companies which are undergoing corporate rescue mechanisms 

  • Represented one of the largest global integrated corporation from South Korea in monitoring against a corporate rescue mechanisms company in Malaysia in claims in excess of RM 9 million

  • Represented foreign and local clients in negotiation settlements and obtained favourable settlements in claims in excess of RM 10 million

  • Facilitated a Singapore bank in monitoring the insolvency progress against an Indonesia company in Indonesia

  • Facilitated trade credit insurance in monitoring companies undergoing corporate rescue mechanisms or insolvency.
